Never has a group of people so succinctly lulled their citizens to sleep than the coup de grace of the UK entertainment agencies.
While the English Labor Party has controlled Parliament since Margaret Thatcher, subjects of the crown have been busy with "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" and "Fawlty Towers".
This is not to suggest that Stephen Fry and Rowan Atkinson are not very talented and funny people or that watching entertainers is not a good diversion.
But the people of London and the Shires are fiddling while Rome burns.
Over the course of the years these shows have been on TV, the Muslim population has soared to 1.5 million and climbing, or roughly 3% of the total population.
Since certainly at least a small number of these immigrants were Al Qaeda plants, the attacks on the transportation system of London on July 7 and 21, 2005 can be at least partially attributed to this increase.
In addition, the propaganda network Al Jazerra no longer has just an office in London.
They have moved their entire English language arm to Great Britain.
Another thing the UK entertainment agencies have done is indoctrinate the British people to the idea that guns are completely unnecessary, even to the police.
After the institution of sweeping gun control laws took effect on the island, criminal violence with guns increased from 4903 in 1997 to 6843 in 2000, a jump of nearly 40%.
To top it off, it has been estimated that 300,000 illegal guns are in Great Britain and the police have to sign theirs out when the threat of deadly force is possible.
And yet the folks living in the flats of London seem to be content watching Monty Python reruns instead of petitioning their government to change the laws.
The UK entertainment agencies have all but ignored the abysmal failure of universal healthcare.
But foisted on the people with nary a word, the British system has become so bad that it has actually condemned some of its residents to die because treatment options have been unavailable.
The breast cancer drug Herceptin has been routinely denied to patients throughout England.
To give you an idea, the drug reduces the rate of returning cancer by 52%. You can't get odds like that in Vegas.
But due to its cost, the drug has widely denied by local British health authorities. To top it off, issues like this have gone uncovered by the British media.
It has only been through various support organizations that these issues have come out.
There is nothing wrong with the use of television and movies to keep one's mind off of the idiocy that is government, particularly liberal government.
There is however a difference between diversion and complete escapism. UK entertainment agencies, along with their North American counterparts have made a living by convincing the global public to take part in the latter.
It is an atrocity of great magnitude to put the citizens of a government to bed while they slowly take away civil liberties and the right to protect themselves. Unfortunately, it has become common practice among the elite.
