Civil Rights Marches Continue Around the World and Are a Useful Tool for Fighting the Oppression and Financial Slavery the Elite Bankers Want to Control us With.
The most frustrating thing about civil rights marches is most people assume they are relics from the past. Earth to America! These public acts of non-violent protest are a critical part of our civil rights because violations of these rights aren't relics of the past either!
While some of the most famous marches took place in the American south during the 1950's and 1960's, those marches were simply part of a global movement to get attention for causes by turning out publicly to support them.
Different countries react to marches with widely varying responses. Common responses include indifference, apathy, media absence, media presence, police presence, police interference, beatings, application of tear gas, arrests and shootings.
The level of response generally depends on the type of government and the policy being protested. Protesting Huge Chavez's nationalization of the banks is going to earn a much different response than protesting the state of California's referendum results.
The incredible variety inherent in civil rights marches makes them one of the most dynamic and powerful tactics that can be used to express dissent, support or disapproval of a policy.
We need to support these marches and stand up and demand the return of our constitutional rights that are every day being slowly taken from us by our elite ruled government. By publicly saying no to their back handed control we can hope to one day bring our nation back into the hands of the people.
We also need to be wary of how the government and its backers behave within our protests. It is common knowledge they will plant men and women in otherwise peaceful and lawful civil rights marches in order to stir up trouble. These people are paid to incite violence and trigger the need for police force intervention to give the protesters and their cause a bad name.
While the Proposition 8 civil rights marches were certainly some of the largest domestic marches of the previous year in the United States, there was plenty to protest around the world. The US isn't the only government that likes to flex its muscles without regard for civil liberties. Marches in the UK, Ireland, Germany and Ecuador attested to this.
Some of the most protested issues focused on marriage rights, the environment and free trade issues. Tactics have shifted somewhat since the early days, as organizers now use Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and YouTube as communication tools.
Ensuring press coverage and TV presence is also important to modern organizers, whereas in the past they might have settled for simply getting the attention of city hall. This TV attention can be a duel edged sword if the government planted protesters cause the marches to become violent. Care must be taken to ensure the message meant to be expressed is the one seen on international TV.
Given the enduring popularity of civil rights marches, it seems only natural to assume they will be a permanent feature of protest life for years to come. However, some societal norms in the US could change how they operate.
In the past, protesters were often a tight group with all members well known to each other. Now, with mass invites to protests going out over Twitter and Facebook, participants are often strangers to one another. This leaves non-violent marches open to infiltration by the elite backed troublemakers.
This reduction of screening capacity and the rising suspicion of the government abuse of public groups will have to be considered as future marches are planned. The idea is to make a powerful statement, not to be turned into a public example.
Organizers will have to become innovators in terms of learning to verify identity and ensure that participants are true believers willing to follow the code of conduct. Government agents do not need any additional excuses to monitor and harass protest groups, and troublemakers make it all too easy for them.
